About this Workshop

This workshop begins in the afternoon and ends shortly after sunset.  Naturally, the start time of the workshop will be timed to give us time to explore one or two areas of photographic interest before making sure we are at the final location ready to make the most of the golden hour around sunset.  The dates available are all selected for the most of optimum tide. Brightlingsea is a charming coastal town located in the county of Essex, England. The seafront at Brightlingsea is a picturesque and tranquil spot, offering visitors a chance to relax and take in the natural beauty of the area. The seafront is lined with colorful beach huts and traditional seaside cafes, providing the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of tea or an ice cream whilst admiring the views across the estuary. The town is known for its oyster beds, which can be seen in the shallow waters during low tide, adding to the unique charm of the area. With its peaceful atmosphere and stunning scenery, the seafront at Brightlingsea is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a relaxing break by the coast A brief meet & greet at the car park will allow us to get to know each other and for me to see what photographic gear you have brought with you. Apart from having so many beautiful beach huts to work with, this location is a long-exposure photographer's dream come true, with so many copositions lending themselves to those dreamy out-of-focus sea scapes. I shall teach you how to achieve these magical images, and provide use of the filters typically used to achieve them. I use a very laid back teaching style, (there won't be any exam question, I promise!), and being a small group, I am able to ensure I spend as much time with all attendees, to help them get the most from their camera and equipment. You will learn all about reading and setting exposure, composition & framing, as well as how to get the most from the camera settings, such as achieving the best focus and Depth of Field for a scene.  If you haven't yet mastered Fully Manual control of your camera, I am sure you will be adept at it by the end of the workshop. Following the workshop, you will be given access to some freebies for you to download and keep, including my; "Landscape Photography Essentials", which will help solidify the new skills you have learnt. I look forward to seeing you there :)
