Bokeh balls
Bokeh is a photographic term that refers to the aesthetic quality of the blur in the out-of-focus parts of an image. Bokeh balls specifically refer to the circular shapes that appear in the background of an image when the aperture is set to a low f-number. The shape of the bokeh balls can be influenced by the shape of the aperture blades, and some lenses are known for producing particularly pleasing bokeh.
