Welcome to the Photography Glossary, brought to by JRMGallery Workshops

A flash is an artificial light source used in photography to illuminate a scene. It's particularly useful in low light situations or when you need to add extra light to your subject. The flash produces a burst of light that lasts for a very short duration, typically 1/1000th of a second or less.
