Your Workshop Host
My name is Julian, and I am your host for the JRMGallery Photographic Workshops
My Story
My photographic journey began when I was just 17, when my then girlfriend, bought me my very first ever camera, a 35mm Cosina CT1G, and I soon became fascinated with the process of taking and developing images. However, if wasn't until several years later that upgraded my kit to a Canon EOS 50E, and started experimenting with slide film and also built my own dark room in a spare bedroom.

However, my real passion for the photographic image came with the advent of the first Digital SLRs. I was fascinated with the concept of instant images that you could see moments after pressing the shutter release. I treated myself to a Canon 300D and the rest is history.

I upgraded my camera to the original Canon 5D, and I learned how to photograph people and weddings and for a few years my wedding books were full. Always in the background, was a passion for photographing the landscape and the fauna and flora that inhabited it and this became my No. 1 thing to do in my spare time.
Many years passed, and the weddings ceased, while the Portraiture and Landscape photography increased, and I was starting to sell my landscape work, which was a great way to be able to afford upgrades to my gear. I continued being a Canon shooter and eventually finished my Canon journey with 2 Canon 5DmkIIIs, (always good to have a spare :)

I eventually moved from Canon to my current mirrorless Fuji system, with a Fuji XT-3 and assorted lenses. I love this camera due to its size and weight (or lack thereof), and the gorgeous results from the Fuji lenses.
